HILLSBORO, Ore. – A woman subdued an armed, attempted carjacking suspect outside a nightclub in Aloha Thursday night.
Just before 11 p.m., Washington County deputies were called to a “very chaotic scene” at the Club Underground on Southwest Tualatin Valley Highway.
A man had tapped a handgun on the driver's door window, demanding the keys and ordering four people out of the car, investigators said.
That’s when the 33-year-old driver grabbed a knife, got out of the car and wrestled the man to the ground, police said. The woman and others were able to get the gun away from 30-year-old Daniel Broome, of Hillsboro, according to deputies.
"Next thing I know, there's a tap on my window and I turn, and there's a gun in my face," Dawn Durbin said. "And he's just like, 'get out of the car, get out of the car.'" No one was seriously hurt.
Broome was arrested for robbery, with more charges to follow.
