VANCOUVER -- A woman was shot by her former landlord during a dispute at a Vancouver home Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Deputies were called just after 1 p.m. to the the report of a shooting in the 1200 block of Northeast 117th Avenue, according to Sgt. Fred Neiman of the Clark County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators at the scene found 54-year-old Rochelle Breen suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. She told deputies she had been shot by her former landlord, 71-year-old Jack Buxton, at the home where she recently rented a room from him.
After a deputy performed first aid, Breen was taken to a nearby hospital. She was expected to make a full recovery.
A major crimes team was called in and Buxton was cooperating with investigators, Neiman said. Police did not confirm initial reports that the shooting was accidental.
