PORTLAND -- Authorities arrested a woman after she left her 1-year-old daughter in her car Friday afternoon, which was one of the hottest days of the year in the Portland area.
Gabidey Onofre was arrested around 5 p.m. by Gresham Police and booked on one count of reckless endangerment and one count of child neglect for leaving her daughter sleeping in her car while she went inside a medical office with another child, Police said.
Someone walked by the car and saw the little girl in the front seat. Officers at the scene said the 1-year-old child seemed to be in distress form the heat when they arrived.
