PORTLAND – A woman fought off a would-be sexual assault suspect in a parking garage after a Trailblazers’ game Monday night, police said.
At 10:19 p.m., the 27-year-old woman was walking through the parking garage adjacent to North Drexler Drive when a man walked up, grabbed her, and started pulling her toward a fenced area. The woman fought back and the man let her go before he took off running, according to Sgt. Pete Simpson with Portland police.
Multiple officers swarmed to the scene and searched the area but didn’t find the man.
The suspect was described as a white man in his 30s or 40s with long, straight, dark hair. He was wearing a gray shirt, jeans and the victim said he had very bad body odor.
The woman didn’t need any medical attention after the attack and later that evening she met with a police sketch artist to help create a sketch of the suspect.
Anyone with information about the attack was urged to call Portland police’s sex crimes unit at 503-823-9781.
