PORTLAND – The Portland Winterhawks are headed to the Western Hockey League final after winning their fourth straight Western Conference Championships Friday.

The Winterhawks shut down the Kelowna Rockets 7-3 during Game 5. The win means the Hawks will go to the WHL final for the fourth straight year in a row.

According to Winterhawks.com, the team is the fourth in league history to appear in four consecutive championship series. The Winterhawks will play the champion of the Western Hockey League's Eastern Division series.

The Edmonton Oil Kings and the Medicine Hat Tigers are battling it out for that title, with the Oil Kings leading the WHL Eastern Division series 3-1.
