VANCOUVER -- The Washington State Patrol is hiring, but first, there's a fitness test that applicants must pass.
The first is an agility test. “There’s a push up portion, which is timed for one minute, there’s a sit up portion, which is timed for one minute, and then there’s a mile-and-a-half run,” explained Washington State Patrol Trooper Will Finn.
“You can’t be on your knees for those push-ups,” he added.
Only 3 to four 4 of all applicants will actually make it to the academy, Finn said.
Anyone who is interested in starting a career with the Washington State Patrol, can visit the Southwest Washington Headquarters in Vancouver this Saturday.
Troopers will be conducting the agility test and giving a written exam.
Detailed information can be found on the Washington State Patrol website.
