EUGENE, Ore. – U.S. Marshals said a man who robbed a bank in Eugene Friday afternoon was Kelly Swoboda, a federal fugitive and suspect in a violent Milwaukie kidnapping.

Around 3 p.m., a suspect used a note to rob the Columbia Bank on Seneca Road. He then left with the cash in a dark green Chrysler van that may have had a broken rear window, according to Eugene police.

U.S. Marshals and Portland police recognized the suspect as 49-year-old Kelly Swoboda who is accused of abducting a woman in late January from her workplace at Palm Beach Tan in Milwaukie.

Swoboda allegedly threw the woman into a minivan and assaulted her. The woman fought back and escaped after jumping from the moving van. She was seriously injured.
