VANCOUVER – The Captain of the Vancouver Fire Department has died from injuries sustained in a car accident Friday, according to Vancouver city officials.
“It is with great sorrow that we announce that Captain Gregg Roberts died tragically from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident,” said Scott Willis, spokesman for the city of Vancouver. “Captain Roberts will always be remembered for his perpetual smile, enthusiastic professionalism and inspirational leadership.”
Roberts started working at the Vancouver Fire Department in 2004 and was promoted to Captain in 2010. He was also a member of the department's Honor Guard and a Peer Fitness Trainer.
