PORTLAND -- A United Airlines flight that left Portland International Airport Tuesday morning for Houston had to return after the crew was unable to raise the landing gear.
Flight 470 landed without incident shortly after 7 a.m., said Port spokesman Steve Johnson.
United spokeswoman Jennifer Dohm said the flight turned back "due to a mechanical issue." Repairs were made and the flight departed again for Houston at 9:16 a.m.
"We apologize for the inconvenience," she said.
Emergency crews at the airport were dispatched at 6:53 a.m. to Runway 28L to await the flight's return.
