PORTLAND -- The U.S. Postal Service announced that it would be picking up mail from blue collection boxes on the two Sundays leading up to Christmas.
Blue collection boxes in front of all Portland and Vancouver USPS retail locations will be collected after 1 p.m. on Sunday, December, 11 and Sunday, December 18, according to Portland District Manager Kim Anderson.
"Mail deposited before 1 p.m. on the next two Sundays will be picked up, postmarked, processed and sent on its way Sunday night," Anderson said. "By using our collection boxes this Sunday and next, our customers can get a head start on what we expect to be two of the heaviest mailing days of the year."
