PORTLAND -- A driver was accused of DUII and assault after two people were struck about 7:15 p.m. Thursday at SE 142nd and Division.
The man and woman survived and were taken to the hospital in critical condition, said Sgt. Pete Simpson.
Michael Allen, 50, remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, who arrested him for second and third-degree assault, vehicular assault of a pedestrian, reckless driving and DUII.
The pedestrians reportedly were in a marked crosswalk when struck, Simpson said.
