PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Two small pieces of the boxcar-sized, concrete dock that floated from Japan to the Oregon coast have reached their new, permanent home at the Oregon Historical Society museum in Portland.

Society Executive Director Kerry Tymchuk told the state parks department of his interest in acquiring a couple of chunks from the dock.

The two, 20-pound pieces are metal boat tie-offs.

They'll be on display starting Friday.

The dock broke free from a Japanese fishing port during last year's tsunami.

The rest of the dock was dismantled and hauled away for salvage.
