PORTLAND – Two Ford pickup trucks that were stolen from a high school shop class have been found.

A 1979 Ford 4x4 and a 1974 Ford Camper Special pickup were both stolen after thieves cut a chain at a parking lot, officials said.  The ’74 Ford didn’t even have an engine in it.

Someone who purchased the trucks for scrap parts saw a story about them on TV and contacted Meek ProTech High School after realizing they were stolen.

Now the school is getting the trucks back and the students are delighted.

John Billups has been an automotive instructor for 34 years. He teaches about 30 students in the shop at the alternative high school.

“I feel for my students but I also kind of feel for the people that are at that point in their lives who are having to steal,” he said.
