PORTLAND – A power outage made it difficult for many TriMet passengers to keep track of their bus and MAX schedules Tuesday. But the problems were fixed Wednesday.
MAX schedules and real-time arrival estimates were back online Wednesday morning. The bus system schedule and real-time arrivals were available by noon Wednesday.
TriMet’s front line computer systems went down in the outage, which also took out their website, phones and TransitTracker route maps.
"We apologize for the inconvenience," said TriMet spokeswoman Roberta Altstadt. "This impacted our computer servers. Crews have fixed the initial problem and are working on bringing everything back online, but it's taking longer than expected."
Wednesday she said backup systems were already planned for this year and were being fast tracked to prevent similar outages in the future.
