HILLSBORO, Ore. -- A 70-foot tree fell on a Hillsboro home Monday afternoon but no one was hurt.
The tree damaged the home at 2365 Northeast Sunrise Lane and threatened to knock out power in the neighborhood, a Hillsboro Fire Department official said.
The tree consisted of two trunks, one of which split and fell across the one-story house.
Firefighters closed Sunrise Lane between Northeast 21st and 25th Avenue.
The remaining section of the tree was unstable and leaning towards power lines that feed the neighborhood, the fire department said.
