PORTLAND -- A two-year-old was found alone Wednesday morning in a Southeast Portland home with a woman who appeared to have died of natural causes.
Police were dispatched about 8:30 a.m. to the 10100 block of SE Long Street and made the discovery, said Sgt. Pete Simpson.
The original caller on the case told officers that she had not heard from her friend in a few days. The dead woman reportedly had some health issues. She was identified by the Multnomah County Medical Examiner's Office as Micaela Quinn, 40.
The boy was taken to the hospital as a precaution. He was hungry and thirsty but in good condition, he said.
Simpson said police would work with state child care officials to link the boy with his family.
