3 hurt in Govt. Camp Hwy 26 wreck

GOVERNMENT CAMP -- Five people were hurt, two with serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash on the east end of the Government Camp Loop Road where it meets U.S. 26.

The 1:10 p.m. crash closed 26 for an about an hour with detour through the loop road.

Oregon State Police Trooper Tyler Bechtel said  Dale E. Barnache, 59, of Portland, was trying to turn left from the loop road onto eastbound 26 in his 2007 Subaru Impreza.

He turned in front of an eastbound 1989 Volvo four-door driven by Ray Rademacher, 51, of Maupin, causing a collision.

Barnache and Rademacher both had minor injuries. Three passengers in the Volvo were transported from the scene. Patricia Rademacher, 49, and Jacquelyn Beverage, 26, both of Maupin, were taken by Lifeflight helicopter to OHSU. Hugo Christensen, age 2 1/2, was taken by ambulance to OHSU with minor injuries.

Everyone was using safety restraints.

Barnache was cited for making a dangerous left turn.
