Seattle Police were searching a North Seattle home for more explosives after a homemade bomb detonated in the home on Sunday.

A neighbor said he heard a big blast and thought it had come from the nearby freeway.

The explosion shattered windows in the home at 2212 N 106 St.

Police say the boys were apparently experimenting with explosive materials in the living room of one of the boys’ homes when a flash occurred. Both boys were seriously injured and transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.

According to officers on the scene, there were other explosive materials found in the living room and it's not known exactly what the teens were doing.

Police said there was an adult male home when the explosion occurred. He was in a back room and claimed that he had no idea what the teens were doing. He was not injured.

There was no fire.
