VANCOUVER – A teenage girl was taken to the hospital after getting hit by a car in Vancouver early Wednesday morning.

The 17-year-old was hit around 5:45 a.m. in the 3100 block of Falk Road. She was taken to the hospital with what authorities called non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver, 28-year-old Brian Ashard of Vancouver, returned to the scene after briefly leaving to call 9-1-1 from a nearby business complex. He cooperated with investigators.

Falk Road was closed for a little more than an hour while officers investigated. Police have not issued any citations.
