TUALATIN – Three men are in jail after they crashed a car and ran from police in rural Washington County Sunday morning, police said.
Just before 6 a.m., a Tualatin police officer saw four men walking down the side of the road. He then spotted a car wrecked near a sharp turn on Southwest Scholls-Sherwood Road, Sgt. Vance Stimler with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.
When the officer tried to talk to the men, they all took off running.
The officer detained 20-year-old Nicholas Bongiorno (pictured right) of Tigard who needed medical attention and had an outstanding warrant for a probation violation, Stimler said.
Sherwood police and a Washington County deputy spotted two of the other men and arrested 21-year-old Christopher Morgan (pictured left) of Milwaukie for unlawful possession of a weapon because he was carrying a gun without a valid permit.
Deputies then used a K-9 to track down 21-year-old Daniel Steffen (pictured center) of Tigard for failing to perform the duties of a driver.
All three men were lodged in the Washington County Jail.
