PORTLAND – Sunday Parkways will roll its way into summer with its North Portland leg on June 22.
This annual event closes city streets for a day of bike riding and all things non-motor vehicle on select weekends throughout the summer. Last year, the events drew some 85,480 participants.
Organized by The City of Portland, this year features five routes and runs from May to September.
On Sunday, a nine-and-a-half miles street closure along the North Portland Peninsula will take riders from Peninsula Park, down the Willamette Bluff, up to McCoy Park and across to the Kenton neighborhood.
Along the way, there will be plenty of music, food vendors and activities for adults and kids. Highlights include Rose Garden tours, Shakespeare in Kenton Park, Circus Cascadia in Arbor Lodge Park and family-friend R&B and hip hop in the Portsmouth neighborhood.
The event runs from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. and is free to all
