PORTLAND – A group calling itself the Committee for a Student Union planned to protest education cuts in Portland again Wednesday.
Last Saturday, between 12 and 18 demonstrators got pepper sprayed in the face mid-way through a march in the Lloyd District.
The event escalated into a confrontation with police as hundreds of Occupy Portland protesters marched through downtown streets.
Police said protesters were pushing against officers on bicycles.
One man was arrested.
The group gathered at City Hall around 4:30 p.m. asking for an apology.
