PORTLAND – Officials are hoping that surveillance video will help identify arsonists who hit North Portland’s Portsmouth neighborhood overnight.

Six fires were set between 3 and 4 a.m. between North Hodge Avenue and Houghton Street to North Portsmouth Avenue and Lombard Street, according to Portland police spokesman Pete Simpson.

That included two house fires, two vehicle fires, one recycling bin, and one abandoned chair in a parking lot, Simpson said.

Rocks were also thrown at two car windshields.

Surveillance videos (below) from a home shows a suspect in the home’s driveway.

“The suspect appears to be an African American male, possibly in his 20s, slender build, wearing a red over white hoody and baggy jeans,” Simpson said.

Anyone with information about the incidents was asked to call Detective Joe Luiz at 503-823-3408.
