RAINIER, Ore. – A man suspected of stealing thousands of dollars in jewelry, tools and cash was arrested after a chase near Longview Monday.

Rainier Police called in Cowlitz County after a pursuit involving a stolen vehicle involved a police car getting rammed and the suspect getting away. Deputies later found 42-year-old Donald Emery at a home near Clark Creek Road Monday afternoon, where a stolen Ford Taurus was parked.

Investigators said Emery’s arms were bloody with scratches and “he appeared very nervous.” Police said at the home, they found $7,000 in stolen property, including safes, jewelry, cash and tools.

Officers also found several hundred keys, stolen license plates and a stolen horse trailer. Emery was arrested for the stolen vehicle and possession of stolen property.
