PORTLAND – Children at a North Portland hospital were treated to extra-special guests Monday.
A crew of people dressed up as Star Wars characters visited the Randall Children’s Hospital on North Gantenbein Avenue, talking with young patients and answering questions.
The crew was with the costuming club called Cloud City Garrison, which is an Oregon and Southwest Washington chapter of the 501st Legion of Stormtroopers.
The group is dedicated to movie-quality costumes of Star Wars characters and often appears at charity events and fundraisers.
A woman dressed as Princess Leia said it’s all about bringing experiences to those who can’t get outside.
"This really just puts a smile on their faces," she said.
Princess Leia also said the visit helped show kids that Darth Vader really does have a good heart.
