PORTLAND -- After a couple inches of rain dumped Wednesday, the metro area stayed soggy and gray, but Sunday should finally see some sunshine, KGW Meteorologist Nick Allard said Friday morning.
Late Friday morning a sudden torrent dumped on Portland.
But the sun came out again 30 minutes later.
Showers will continue off and on through Friday evening and and return on Saturday afternoon, he said.
"But on Sunday after some morning clouds, the sunshine will return and it'll be a beautiful day," Allard said.
Skies should stay sunny or mostly sunny for the workweek, with highs hovering around 80 degrees.
The summer solstice last weekend saw clear and sunny skies, and it looks like the rain clouds will head out again just in time for Portland's unofficial start of summer next weekend.
