PORTLAND -- Northwest Naito Parkway turned into a sea of green Sunday as some 35,000 runners and walkers took to the street for the 36th Annual Shamrock Run.
From traditional green hats, to a big green mustaches, people got into the spirit of Saint Patrick's Day.
Refreshments at the end of the race included cold beer and hot clam chowder, along with some live music.
The run is a fundraiser for Doernbecher Children's Hospital.
This year's race had a loosely knit kilt theme.

"We did start a kilt contest,” said Race Director Desiree Hamilton. “Last year we had a lot of tutus and we thought 'kilts are Irish.'"
KGW meteorologist Matt Zaffino ran in his own kilt during the race.
