PORTLAND -- Nearly $4,000 in stolen art from a Sellwood gallery has been found after thieves tried to re-sell it on a Gresham Street.

On Friday, the Love Art! gallery told KGW a thief took heavy cement benches and stepping-stones from its front yard.

On Sunday, Love Art! told KGW the art had been found after thieves were spotted selling the art on a street corner in Gresham.

"A guy who bought one of the benches called because he knew it had been stolen," said Ruby Madrona with Love Art! gallery.

Portland and Gresham police collaborated to catch the thieves.

The majority of the art is back at the gallery, minus the bench.

"We're allowing the guy to keep it for helping us catch the thieves," Madrona said.
