PORTLAND -- A dishwasher who worked at the Oregon Episcopal School in Southwest Portland is in jail, suspected of trying to have sex with an underage girl he met on Craigslist.
Lucas Gautreaux, 33, of Northeast Portland put an ad on Craigslist in the "casual encounters" section to have a person-to-person sexual encounter with a "young girl," according to federal court documents.
A Portland police detective worked undercover and eventually arrested Gautreaux on Friday without incident after a meeting in downtown Portland, officials said.
He was booked into the Multnomah County Jail, where he is being held without bail since a federal judge deemed him to be a flight risk. He's due back in court on Thursday.
Gautreaux was employed as a dishwasher for Bon Appetit, a food service provider, and worked as a dishwasher at Oregon Episcopal School as part of his job. He had very limited contact with students. Investigators told school officials that there was no indication of any victims at the school, according to OES Director of Communications Martin Jones.
Gautreaux passed a background check before he was allowed to work on school premises, added Jones.
Bon Appetit could not be reached for comment late Tuesday afternoon.
