SANDY, Ore. – A Sandy man was accused of sexually abusing a young boy and authorities believe there may be other victims.

Detectives allege that Richard Smith, 52, sexually abused an eight-year-old boy and possibly others at his mobile home at the Big Foot Mobile Home Park east of Sandy.

According to his neighbor Kenny, who didn’t want his last name used, Smith often had underage boys at his home.

“I thought it was odd that he had kids hanging out at his house even though he doesn’t have any kids of his own,” said Kenny.

Smith was indicted on 11 crimes and was being held at the Clackamas County jail on a $500,000 bond.

This was not Smith’s first arrest. In 2007, he was convicted of indecent exposure in Polk County. At the time, he was ordered not to have contact with minors or frequent areas where children gather.

Anyone with information about this case was asked to contact the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.
