SANDY, Ore. – A man accused of sexually abusing an 8-year-old boy in his mobile home east of Sandy pleaded guilty to three counts of sex abuse and was sentenced to 18 years in prison Wednesday.
In June, 52-year-old Richard Smith was indicted on 11 crimes and was being held at the Clackamas County jail on a $500,000 bond.
In 2007, he was convicted of indecent exposure in Polk County. At the time, he was ordered not to have contact with minors or frequent areas where children gather.
Smith will be required to register as a sex offender in Oregon.
