SALEM, Ore. (AP) -- A combination office building and bus mall marked by structural defects is set to reopen in Salem.

The Statesman Journal reports a rededication ceremony will be held Wednesday for Courthouse Square.

The five-story building has been closed for four years to accommodate $23 million in structural fixes.

Courthouse Square is owned by Marion County and Salem-Keizer Transit. It opened in 2000, but occupants soon noted settling and structural problems.

In 2010, engineers found the problems worse than initially thought, and the building was closed.

John Lattimer, Marion County's chief administrative officer, says after the repairs, Courthouse Square has become a robust structure. Repairs were completed on time and on budget.
