HAPPY VALLEY, Ore. -- An Oregon City woman crashed her SUV into a Happy Valley office building just after 3 a.m. Sunday, police said.

The driver, 32-year-old Maria Sanchez, was headed westbound on SE Sunnyside Road and tried to turn left onto SE 93rd Avenue when her vehicle left roadway, according to Sgt. Adam Phillips of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

The SUV broke through a chain link fence and traveled over a bike path and a parking lot before crashing into the One Monarch building at 12550 SE 93rd Avenue, Phillips said.

Witnesses helped her out of the car and responding medical crews treated her for minor injuries.

Sanchez was charged with DUII and criminal mischief. She was already on probation for DUII and refused to provide a breath sample, Phillips said.

No other injuries were reported. A couple of the offices were destroyed, but no structural damage was immediately visible.
