PORTLAND -- Police are stepping up the efforts to find the driver who hit and seriously injured a 20-year-old Portland man walking home from a New Year’s Eve party.

Conor McMahon was walking with a friend down North Lombard Street when he was hit near the University of Portland in the early hours of Jan. 1.

Investigators said the driver intentionally hit McMahon and left the scene.

Crime Stoppers announced Friday it is offering a $1,000 reward for tips leading to the suspect’s arrest. McMahon’s family is also offering reward money in the case.

The driver was described as 35 to 40 years old with dark hair and a slight mustache and goatee. The vehicle is a dark Dodge Caravan that reportedly had a fare meter on the dashboard.
