PORTLAND – A storm rolled into the metro area and temperatures dipped into the 30s bringing snow to some parts of Portland Saturday morning.

A KGW viewer sent in pictures of a light dusting of snow at the top of Council Crest Park. Other viewers on Facebook reported snow in Forest Grove, Salem and Washougal.

The light flurries mixed with rain turned to steady rain in the valley by Saturday afternoon, but three to seven inches of snow is expected to fall above 1,500 feet, according to KGW Meteorologist Jim Donovan.

Six inches to a foot of snow will fall above 1,500 feet Saturday night into Sunday.

Another storm will roll in Sunday, keeping the rain and mountain snow going, followed by another system Monday that should be the strongest of the three, Donovan says.

High winds will come to the Oregon coast with snow levels dropping to 1,000 feet on Tuesday.
