PORTLAND – Rains returned Friday afternoon after flood-choked rivers in western Oregon began to crest and recede.
KGW Meteorologist Nick Allard said rain in the Willamette Valley and around Portland would not be as heavy as Thursday’s.
A High Wind Advisory was in effect for the Portland area starting at 1 p.m. and a High Wind Warning for the Oregon Coast. An Ice Storm Warning remained in effect through Saturday for the Columbia River Gorge.
Rain would continue into Saturday, but Allard said it would not likely lead to an increase in flooding.
Showers were forecast well into next week with high temperatures in the upper 40s ato-mid-50s.
