PORTLAND -- Radio Cab Foundation began distributing Christmas food boxes to families in need as part of it's 15th annual Turkey Project.

The foundation distributes full Christmas meals to more than 1,000 families each year, with donations and support from local companies.

On-site distribution was scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., in the Radio Cab garage at 1613 NW Kearney in Portland. Families were asked to bring evidence of eligibility standards.

Starting Monday, Radio Cab drivers will deliver Christmas boxes to families in need.

A donation of $20 provides a full dinner, and food items can be dropped off at the Radio Cab garage.

Last month, drivers teamed up with Bishop's Barber Shops for the "Mohawks 4 Turkeys" donation drive. For every $150 raised, a driver's hair was shaved into a mohawk.
