PORTLAND – Live power lines fell on a vehicle in Northwest Portland early Wednesday morning, trapping two people inside.
The car crashed into a power pole at the intersection of Northwest Skyline Boulevard and Cornell around 2:30 a.m.
When the live power lines fell on the vehicle, the people inside were not electrocuted because they stayed put until help arrived.
A Portland General Electric crew turned off the electricity and then safely got the people out of the car.
The car crash victims suffered only minor injuries.
Skyline Boulevard was closed for a time during the early morning hours, which caused a traffic backup.
