PORTLAND -- The first baby born in Portland in 2013 was a little girl who arrived at 12:39 a.m.
Little Jasmine Morozova was born at Adventist Medical Center, weighing 7-pounds, 3-ounces.
Today was her due date and her mom and older brother were very excited to meet her in person. Her dad was in the Ukraine and first got to see his daughter on Skype.
“He was really excited, too. He can't wait to see her and hold her and give her a kiss and hug. So hopefully he comes home soon,” said mom, Nina.
Jasmine’s parents said they chose her name after a Russian singer.
Across town at Providence Hospital, the first baby of 2013 arrived at 3:21 a.m. She is also a baby girl.
