SALEM – Two Portland residents won a $10.5 million Oregon Lottery prize Oct. 2.
Phu and Brenda Lieu claimed their jackpot Friday. Phu took a lump sum cash payment and before taxes, received $5,250,000, Oregon State Lottery spokesperson Chuck Bowman said.
Brenda chose 25 yearly installments. Her first payment, before taxes, was $210,000. With the win, the couple became the lottery’s 239th and 240th millionaires.
Phu manually selected the numbers 17959 when he purchased his Megabucks ticket at 7-Eleven on Northeast 122nd Avenue in Portland, Bowman said.
The Oregon Lottery began selling tickets in 1985.
