PORTLAND -- The Portland Police Bureau is turning to the Internet to sell recovered and unclaimed property.

They've partnered with an online company called GovDeals to auction off items.

"These are very, very good items, some new some used, still things people can use." said Rod Sibayan with the Portland Police Bureau.

Items up for auction included a 1909 Nap Lajoie Hall of Fame baseball card, bicycles and jewelry. The most expensive item was a welding generator valued at about $15,000.

The items have been up for auction for about three weeks. So far, there's been one sale and a lot of optimism according to Sibayan.

"We're very excited with what's going on," he said. "We're getting a lot of visitors to the website from across the country."
