Drivers were cautioned to avoid I-84 Monday morning as ice had thickened to a quarter of an inch in some areas.

Rain replaced the freezing rain later Monday. Up  to 4 inches of rain were forecast to fall in the lowlands of northwest Oregon and southwest Washington, according to the Associated Press.

Heading into the work week, KGW Meteorologist Jim Donovan said that highs should reach the upper 50s as a series of Pacific storms make their way east.
