GRESHAM, Ore. – A man was arrested Thursday after driving down MAX light rail tracks with an SUV and getting stuck, police said.
Butch Pearl Stuckey, 44, of Portland was arrested Thursday after driving an SUV 600 feet down a Gresham section of MAX tracks before getting stuck on the rails, according to Detective John Rasmussen with the Gresham Police Department.
Officers responded around 8:00 a.m. to reports that a white Ford Explorer was stuck on the eastbound MAX tracks, east of Southeast Stark and East Burnside Streets. Officers arrived and determined that the driver, Stuckey, was under the influence of drugs and arrested him, Rasmussen said.
MAX service was interrupted for approximately 30 minutes. The SUV did not belong to Stuckey and police are still determining who the rightful owner is. Stucky was charged with reckless driving and possession of methamphetamine, police said.
