PORTLAND – A 23-year-old man is accused of strangling and trying to rape his ex-girlfriend’s mother in Portland.
Police said Michael Leroy Landon broke into the 57-year-old woman’s home, in the area of Northeast 68th Avenue and Glisan Street, last Friday and then attacked her.
The victim was physically and sexually assaulted by Landon, who was her daughter's ex-boyfriend, according to Sgt. Pete Simpson with the Portland Police Bureau.
The victim was taken to a Portland hospital for treatment.
Landon was later arrested without incident at his home in Portland, Simpson said. He was charged with attempted rape, sex abuse, kidnapping, burglary, unlawful sexual penetration, coercion, strangulation, and assault.
