CLACKAMAS, Ore. – Police are trying to track down a driver who slammed into a woman and her teenage daughter as they sat in their car at a red light in Clackamas Wednesday evening.
At 7:23 p.m., 43-year-old Tessie McQueen of Troutdale was stopped behind traffic with her 14-year-old daughter in the left lane of Highway 224 just east of 82nd Drive, said Lt. Gregg Hastings with Oregon State Police.
Then out of nowhere, someone driving a two-toned gray 1980s Chevrolet Suburban with a red pinstripe smashed into the back of McQueen’s car, Hastings said.
Instead of stopping, the driver fled west over Interstate 205 and was last seen driving west on Southeast Roots Road west of the interstate.
McQueen and her daughter were taken in an ambulance to the hospital with minor injuries.
The suspect vehicle had an Oregon tree license plate and should have right front damage. Other witnesses reported seeing the SUV at nearby gas stations and a nearby 7-11 convenience store.
Anyone with information was asked to call police at 503-731-3020 ext 275.
