PORTLAND -- Tactical police raided an apartment building in Old Town about 5 a.m. Thursday that turned up methamphetamine, weapons, body armor and several stolen bicycles.
The bust was part of a federal drug trafficking investigation, Sgt. Pete Simpson said.
Squads from Portland police and the Washington County Sheriff's Office entered the Hip Sing Association building at 211 Northwest 3rd Street.
Several bicycles and computers were also found during the raid that investigators said may be stolen. (See photos at right.)
Several people were taken from the scene and others detained.
Police arrested 40-year-old Tracey Scott Ledoux, 31-year-old Amy Sue Macioroski, 43-year-old Donald Stumpff, 42-year-old Troy Lee Guy, 32-year-old Jennifer Ann Mahoney, 28-year-old Lisa Marie Mills and 25-year-old Sean Michael Evans.
The building has historic ties to a Chinese tong, an historic meeting place for immigrants, but the bust involved tenants who were renting rooms in the building.
