BAKER CITY, Ore. – Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver that smashed into a Interstate 84 guardrail near Baker City Thursday and sped off.
Around 11 p.m., state police discovered the mangled guardrail on the eastbound onramp to I-84 from Cedar Street.
Evidence indicates the driver tried to get on the onramp, lost control, hit the guardrail and took out a sign, said Lt. Gregg Hastings with Oregon State Police.
After causing the damage, the driver took off, possibly heading east on the interstate. Police thing the vehicle is a late 1980s or early 1990s Ford pickup truck with extensive front damage.
