TILLAMOOK, Ore. – A man was arrested for murder in the Garibaldi area Tuesday, after his own wife called 9-1-1 to report the shooting.
Tillamook County Sheriff Todd Anderson said the woman called 9-1-1 from her home at 16620 South Point Drive and said that her husband, Ronald Lunsford, 48, had shot another man who was living in a trailer on their property.
When paramedics arrived, they found a body inside the trailer and the man could not be revived.
A short time later, police took Lunsford into custody at a nearby business after he called police himself and told them where to find him.
Lunsford was arrested and charged with aggravated murder and assault, Anderson said.
Anderson added that the sheriff’s department was working on getting a warrant to search the property and investigators with the Oregon State Crime Lab would be helping collect clues for the case.
The name of the victim had not yet been released, pending notification of family members.
