SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- Police in Spokane followed footprints in fresh snow from a market where burglars stole more than 400 packs of cigarettes to a nearby apartment where officers arrested two young men.

Police say the treads of the men's wet shoes matched the footprints found near Sonnenberg's Market early Wednesday.

The Spokesman-Review reports that police also had video surveillance images of the intruders.

Police obtained a search warrant and recovered several backpacks filled with cigarette packs.
