PORTLAND -- A woman was found dead early Sunday morning in Southeast Portland and a man at the scene alive with self-inflicted gunshot wounds, who later died, according to Portland police.
Officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of Southeast Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard, entered an apartment and found the pair, said Sgt. Pete Simpson.
The man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police announced early Sunday afternoon that he had died.
A police tactical team also responded to the scene to assist patrol officers, Simpson said. The public is not in danger, he said.
